Lately, I've been thinking about my spiritual investment in God. I opened a Christian account to grow spiritually, but I received a statement in the mail advising me to close my Catholic fund. It's hard to not feel discouraged when the world seems to be turning against the Catholic Church.
I called the Christian Hotline to be transferred to the Black Catholic Department, but I was put on hold. I listened as Irish Catholics and Protestants fought over who was God's press secretary to humanity. It's disheartening to see Christians divided and fighting in God's court, while the rest of the world watches in disgust, wondering how divided Christians could possibly unify a divided world.
Finally, I was transferred to a voicemail that left me reeling. The message explained that the Church was experiencing an "Anti-Catholic Virus Pandemic" created by enemies of Catholicism, due to the sex abuse scandals, racism, and so many issues within the Church. Catholics are being asked to quarantine, rediscover and renew their faith, and look back at the historical continuity of Christianity.
The voicemail went on to say that to combat this virus, Catholics are being provided with an essential worker - Mary, the Mother of Christ. She will provide Catholics with a spiritual "mask" in the form of the rosary. The rosary is a powerful tool to cleanse our hearts with the Holy Spirit, feed our faith, and protect our hearts from any gaps between us and God.
But it's not just about using the rosary as a spiritual mask, it's about renewing our faith as a whole. We need to refill our spiritual tank with the Holy Spirit, feed our faith, and maintain the integrity of the Church and historical Christianity. It's important to ensure that faith-care options are available for all hospitalized Catholics, to lessen the risk of losing faith.
It's easy to get caught up in the negative news surrounding the Catholic Church, but we must remember that God sees everyone's hearts and it's not up to us to judge. Our spiritual investments can only last when we do business with Jesus Christ. So let's renew our faith, wear our spiritual mask, and fight the Anti-Catholic Virus Pandemic together. It's crucial that we remember that the Catholic Church is not just an
institution, it's a community of believers. Together, we can overcome
any obstacle and continue to spread the love and message of Jesus Christ. We must stand in solidarity with one another and support each other in our spiritual journey.
It's also important to acknowledge the role that we, as individuals, play in combatting this Anti-Catholic Virus Pandemic. We must also take responsibility for our own spiritual growth and ensure that we are actively working towards dismantling the systems of racism and discrimination that affects all Black Americans and other marginalized communities. Together, we can build a Church and a society that truly lives up to its universal name, Catholic.
Let's take this opportunity to renew our faith every day and become the instruments of God's peace. We must work towards a Church and a society that is inclusive, just, and truly universal while combatting the Anti-Catholic Virus Pandemic and continuing to grow spiritually.
